Maybelline Black Gel Eyeliner

I have always found liquid eyeliner hard to apply so I thought I would give this gel eye liner a go.

This gel eyeliner that comes in a glass pot with a screw-on lid. Each glass pot of gel eyeliner comes with a small, flat bristled brush for lining. Personally, I didn't find the brush the right kind to line with but I prefer to use my Mac 210, but it’s a nice little bonus.

I found it had a rich black pigment–so I was quite surprised at how well it translated onto the lid.  I applied it to my upper lash line, and it was smooth and easy to apply.

They seem to dry and set without much of a fuss, but they don’t dry instantly, so you may have to wait a few seconds before you close your eyes shut to avoid any transfer.
The packaging has a surprisingly “high-end” feel for Maybelline — they look and feel much like Mac Fluidlines.

I think they’re definitely worth picking up if you’re in the market for an affordable gel eyeliner. Also, a little goes a long way with this little pot. have read other reviews on this and they all say that it doesnt dry out easily- just remember to keep the lid screwed on tighly!

Maybelline Black Gel Eyeliner is currently available in boots for £7.99.

NYC Bronzing Powder in Sunny Review

A while ago, I watched a YouTube video featuring Pixi2woo- Tanya Burr. She mentioned this and I have wanted to try it ever since. I finally got my hands on it and so far I'm loving it!

Sunny is packaged in bronze plastic cosmetic packaging, and comes with a mirror in the lid and a round applicator sponge. I'm not a fan of the packaging, as mine has difficulty closing, and overall feels like it could break somewhat easily. However, I love the sun imprint in the powder itself... perfect for a bronzer!

I would describe Sunny as a light-medium, matte bronzing shade. It is certainly warm (which most bronzers are), but isn't orange at all on my skin.

I was really surprised by the formulation of this powder. It is nicely pigmented, blends well, and has no crumbling in the pan. I've been using the Real Techniques contour brush (which you can find in the core collection, available in boots) to apply this and it works wonderfully!

NYC Sunny bronzer retails for roughly £3, and considering its quality, this is a steal. I now get why everyone raves about it! The low price tag is definitely not reflective of the actual product, however the packaging could definitely be improved!  I think this bronzer would work best on lighter complexions, though it is buildable.

Barry M Blueberry

Hello everyone!

So I'm sure you have all heard of the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Gel Effect by now. I fell in love with this colour when I saw this on my friends nails and the next day I went out and got it. I don't waste any time :P

The consistency of this polish is opaque and really thick. This is two coats of the colour Blueberry, you could probably get away with just one coat but I think two gives a glossy finish. You could add a top coat for extra shine.

If you are a bit impatient for your nails to dry, I wouldn't recommend this as i found it to take at least five minutes to dry properly, which for me, who usually buys the 'dries in 60 seconds' nail polishes, is a really long time.

Overall, I love the colour but I don't think I will buy this again or in different colours. As I like it but sadly I don't love it. Sorry Barry M, but this just didn't do it for me.

Available from Boots and Superdrug now at £3.99.

Introduction to Sophiesayshi

Hello everyone!

So I have been religiously reading blogs and watching YouTube videos for over a year now. I have always admired my online friends (even though they have never met me and probably don't know I exist *tear rolling down the cheek*) and I always wanted to start writing a blog- maybe film YouTube videos one day- and slowly build a sturdy set of Internet followers. But I am one of those people who put things off and I said to myself, Sophie if I were you I would wait until the opportune moment, and I continued to wait for that moment to arrive. Eventually, the other day I finally realised that the day wasn't going to come until I said ''right now, I'm ready, lets do this''.

So I created this little baby, after much deliberation, weighing up the pro's and con's and putting it off for a ridiculous amount of time.

The meaning behind my FIRST EVER BLOG POST/ introduction :D is to just do it! And do things when they come instead of putting things off and waiting for the opportune moment to arrive, even though you may be waiting for a looong time.

For me, I am so glad I finally plucked up the courage to enter the blogging community. If you want to start to start blogging just GO FOR IT! See how things pan out and go where the wind takes you.

I would love it if you would leave a comment saying what you would like to see my next blog post about. Anything, beauty, fashion, lifestyle, or Harry Potter related.

Thank you for reading,
Sophie
